Aloha Friends!

I’m an early riser. Most mornings, I’m running by dawn, focused on continually moving forward. Some mornings are tougher than others but ultimately, excuses won’t get me to the finish line.

It requires discipline to achieve any worthwhile pursuit in life. I choose to wake up so I can show up to honor my commitments to myself, my family, and my community. I believe great leaders don’t set out to be a leader, they set out to make a difference. It’s never about the role; it’s always about the goal!

Hawaiʻi is ripe for change. People are beginning to wake up and face many inconvenient and difficult truths. While the COVID-19 pandemic has been distressing for local families and crippled our economy, it has exposed a severe failure in leadership across many trusted institutions. As a result, perceptions are quickly shifting as our collective awareness continues to grow.

We have the power within ourselves to create change and the path I am on will be the path of many people to come who want to fight for this place we call home.

Respectfully,
